Barbera D’Alba DOC Valbianchèra

Barbera (80-year-old vines)

Barbera is part of history. The oldest vines of the Valbianchera vineyard are about 100 years old and were planted by great-grandfather Domenico at the beginning of the twentieth century. Today, Stefano and Federico represent the fourth Almondo generation working on these vines.

The Valbianchera soil is rich in limestone and clay, providing this Barbera with body and fragrance, highlighted by ageing in big casks. Its deep red colour, almost impenetrable, speaks of strength and history. Its fragrance carries you away into a woodland rich in cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants and pepper. On the palate, an exquisite balance between a rich body and a pleasant acidity, with a persistent finish.
