Roero Bric Valdiana 2018 (92 pts)
“Sweet dried cherry, cinnamon, orange peel, mint and leather give the 2018 Roero Bric Valdiana beguiling aromatic nuance and complexity. Medium in body and translucent, with tons of character, the Bric Valdiana is super- expressive today.”
Antonio Galloni, From “Everyday Piedmont, Parts 1 & 2“, (Sep 2021)
Roero 2019 (91 pts)
“The 2019 Roero is a gracious, perfumed wine that shows the more delicate side of Nebbiolo in Roero. Sweet oral accents, cedar, dried cherry and mint all waft from the glass. This silky, charming Roero will drink well pretty much right out of the gate.”

Barbera d’Alba Valbianchera 2019 (92 pts)
“The 2019 Barbera d’Alba Valbianchera marries the textural richness of Barbera with clean mineral underpinning, that add tension as well as energy. Bright and punchy, with terrific depth, the 2019 is super- expressive. It will appeal most to readers who appreciate subtlety over opulence in Barbera.”
Antonio Galloni, From “Everyday Piedmont, Parts 1 & 2“, (Sep 2021)
Roero Arneis Vigne Sparse 2020 (89 pts)
“The 2020 Roero Arneis Vigne Sparse is bright, crisp and refreshing. Orchard fruit, mint, white flowers and crushed rocks lend brilliance to this textbook Arneis from Almondo.”

Roero Arneis Le Rive del Bricco delle Ciliegie 2019 (90 pts)
“The 2019 Roero Arneis Le Rive del Bricco delle Ciliegie, Almondo’s top selection, is quite inward in feel. There is terrific energy, minerality and depth. Dried pear, crushed flowers, chamomile and mineral accents all open nicely. I prefer the fresher style of the straight Bricco delle Ciliegie, but the Rive is quite good, and will be terrific at the dinner table with richer dishes.”
Antonio Galloni, From “Everyday Piedmont, Parts 1 & 2“, (Sep 2021)
Roero Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie 2020 (91 pts)
“The 2020 Roero Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie is layered and creamy, yet retains terrific freshness throughout. Pear, ginger, white flowers and a hint of spice lend notable character to this inviting, compelling Arneis. Bricco delle Ciliegie is one of the great whites of Italy.”

Barbera d’Alba Valbianchera 2017 (91 pts)
“The 2017 Barbera d’Alba Valbianchera brings together the natural lushness of the year with a good bit of brightness that balances things out nicely. Black cherry jam, sweet spice, licorice, plum and chocolate give the 2017 serious depth, but bright acids perk up the flavors and give the wine terrific energy. The 2017 could use another year or two in bottle. It is one of the most vibrant 2017 Barberas I have tasted.”

Roero 2017 (93 pts)
“The 2017 Roero is very nicely lifted and refined. Crushed flowers, mint, dried cherry, anise, spice and dried flowers give the 2017 its aromatic intensity. Deceptive in its mid-weight feel, the 2017 has quite a bit of depth, and plenty of structure, too. In the glass, the 2017 is absolutely exquisite, not to mention one of the most complete and enticing Nebbiolos of the 2017 harvest. I expect the 2017 will mature relatively early, but between now and then it will offer tons of pleasure.”

Roero Bric Valdiana 2016 (94 pts)
“The 2016 Roero Bric Valdiana is another compelling wine in this range from Almondo. Dark cherry, menthol, licorice, spice, cedar and blood orange are all laced together in a deep, flavorful Roero endowed with real character and tons of class. The 2016 needs time in bottle to shed some tannin, but it is super-impressive today. Sweet red cherry, mint, blood orange and star anise add the closing shades of nuance. There is a ton to look forward to.”

Roero Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie 2015 (92 pts)
“The 2015 Roero Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie is one of the very few Arneis that can be said to be a wine of true distinction. Pear, green apple and jasmine notes are beautifully delineated, but it is the wine’s texture that places it in the realm of Piedmont’s most intriguing whites.”
